Eduardo Tercero is a tenor/baritone from Panama City, Panama that has made his home in Houston, Texas most of his life. He attended the Kinder High School for the performing and visual arts and studied at The Moores School of Music, University of Houston. He has made a successful career in singing and performing and now teaches young aspiring high schoolers in their vocal and musical pursuits.

 

Eduardo has been the head voice teacher at Bellaire High School since 2012. In that time his students have consistently received a one rating at the UIL Solo & Ensemble competition. He has also coached students into the TMEA All-State Choir.

 

Most of Eduardo's career has been in the concert work realm. At a local level, he has been featured as a soloist with The Houston Symphony, the River Oaks Chamber Orchestra of Houston, Mercury Chamber Orchestra, the Grammy nominated Ars Lyrica Houston, Cantare Houston and the Grammy winning Houston Chamber Choir. He has also workshopped world premiere works for the Houston Grand Opera.

 

Eduardo's other passion is musical theater. He was part of the Houston premiere performance of Myths and Hymns by Adam Guettel. He originated the role of Eddie in Defying Gravity: A Stephen Schwartz Songbook which garnered him a Best Actor in a Musical nomination from Broadwayworld.com. He has also participated in workshops sponsored by Theatre Under the Stars. Other credits include Guido in Nine, Franky in Forever Plaid and John the Baptist/Judas in Godspell.

 

As a recording artist, he won the Grammy for Best Choral Performance of the Year in 2020 as a featured soloist with the Houston Chamber Choir for Duruflè: Complete Choral Works on the Signum Classic label.
